Is an enthusiast of the high-low pairing and loves all things involving Italian wine and Caribbean food (especially if they’re combined). As the child of Jamaican and Ghanian immigrants, her culinary education is homegrown and based in a reverence for food as a carrier of culture and resistance. Shortly after completing her studies in Mechanical Engineering, she left the world of STEM to devote her energy to a career in food & beverage. After moving back to her old Manhattan stomping grounds, she hit her stride as the Head Sommelier/Co-Beverage Director at Lincoln Ristorante. Since March 2020 she has used her newfound free time to pursue various wine certifications (CSW, Italian Wine Scholar, WSET II), and explore the world of natural wine with Domestique Wine. Most recently, Kayla spends her time as a beverage consultant and wine writer, working at the intersection of wine and technology.
